Beauty’s Haven Farm & Equine Rescue is home to nearly 50 horses that are in need of special care and homes. Theresa Batchelor of Morriston, Florida, said she rescues horses, but it seemed like Beauty, the haven’s namesake, saved her. Batchelor is an incomplete quadriplegic and riding and caring for horses has helped her through the process.
During my time at JapanTravel, I created a video and accompanying article for Highlighting Japan, a monthly magazine sponsored by the Japanese government. Each issue dedicated a section or two to the 47 prefectures, going in alphabetical order. Kusatsu in Gunma Prefecture was the focus for August 2013.
